STORAGE

Explorer Marine are happy to provide storage and launch and recovery services for your Explorer RIB or any other boat, at either our store near Rock in Cornwall or at the store at Westcott near Cullompton in Devon.

Storage charges are assessed based on the rectangular plan area of your boat, excluding the engine and the trailer front draw bar.

For 2009 / 2010 storage year we have three charge rates:

Fully enclosed inside storage is charged at £4.50 per square metre per month or £45 per square metre per year

Undercover storage in an open sided barn is charged at £2.40 per sq. metre per month or £24 per sq. metre per year

Outside storage in a locked compound is charged at £1.20 per sq. metre per month or £12 per sq. metre per year.

For short term storage there is a minimum charge of £15.

The usual storgae year starts on 1st November and finishes on 31st October.

If you are going to store your boat yourself, then the following points should be noted:

• Boats are best stored in a garage or barn covered by a light cotton dustsheet.

• Do measure your garage carefully since the usual SPORTS 550 RIB will NOT fit in a single garage.

• A carport type structure will keep the sun and leaves etc away from the boat.

• If you must store your boat outside, wrap it in a tight fitting cover or leave it uncovered as a loose blowing tarpaulin will do more harm than good.
